Balloon Fiesta

Home Up

We had been planning to visit the 2006 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta for almost a year, although we were only able to attend the first 5 days.  There was some debate on whether the weather was the worst or second worst in the history of the fiesta.  I was able to get a few pictures on the first day of the fiesta, and just like golf when a birdie on the 18th hole makes you want to come back, as we were leaving the park I stopped the RV an took some of the best images.  We stopped at Graceland in Memphis TN on the way out, and in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on the way back.  While in Albuquerque and the balloons were not flying we visited the Petroglyphs National Monument and the Albuquerque Zoo and Botanical Gardens.  Because of the number of pictures, they are divided into several sections with the approximate number of images in each section.  Click on each section title to view the thumbnail images 12 at a time.  Click on the thumbnail for a larger image.  You can also step through the large images one at a time in each section.  It may make it easier to find what you want.
